One Door Can Change Everything: Donate $5 on Together Tuesday
What is Together Tuesday?
Together Tuesday is a national day of community action created by GivingTuesday.org. On the fourth Tuesday of June, Americans are encouraged to support their neighborhoods and communities by donating and performing small acts of generosity to strengthen connections and make an impact.
From the Sales Floor to Software Engineering
Danielle Lewis spent years in the retail management field before transitioning to a career in tech. Danielle discovered Building Our Tech (BOT) at a tech festival while she was learning to code. After connecting with community members, Danielle used the resources provided by BOT to develop her skills and transition into a new career.
Through hands-on training, mentorship from industry professionals, and a community of people who not only looked like her but also believed in her potential, Danielle built the skills and confidence to compete in one of the most in-demand fields in tech. With BOT’s help, Danielle learned, built, and scaled.
Today, Danielle is a working iOS engineer and an international conference speaker. Not because she got lucky, but because she gained access and a community that showed up for her.
Opportunity Changes Lives. Access Makes It Possible.
Stories like Danielle's aren't rare. They're waiting to happen in every city and for every person who has the drive but not the door. Economic mobility starts with access, and access starts with organizations like ours that are committed to making technology careers available to everyone.
For 10 years, BOT has helped individuals learn, build, and scale through access, entrepreneurship, workforce readiness, and support for startup founders. We believe that community creates confidence and connection and that no one should have to figure out a career pivot alone.
But we can't do it without you.
Workforce Development is Economic Mobility
Workforce development is an essential step in stimulating economic mobility. When someone transitions from a low-ceiling job into a thriving tech career, the impact doesn't stop with them. They start to experience growth in other areas. Their income grows. Their family's stability grows. Their ability to invest back into their community grows. At BOT, we meet people where they are and walk with them to where they want to go, providing the hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world skills needed to compete in the tech industry. When access to tech is no longer reserved for the few, entire communities can rise. Economic mobility starts with access, and access is exactly what we provide.
Give $5 Today and Be a Part of Someone’s Story
Today is Together Tuesday, and we're asking our community to come together around something simple and powerful: a $5 donation.
Five dollars from one person is a small gesture. Five dollars from hundreds of people in this community? That's program funding. That's a scholarship. That's the next Danielle getting her shot.
Support workforce development, technology career pathways, and entrepreneurship opportunities in our community. Every dollar goes toward empowering the next generation of tech professionals and funding the next 10 years of impact.
